Parametric studies using grasshopper and python
Parametric exploration of the floor mass form
parametric tools and features
This study explored the earlier parametric study conducted with Revit/Dynamo for the Hall of the Messe Basel. However, this time Rhino, Grasshopper, Genetic Algorithm, and Python were the tools used in the study. The parametric features of the study include include the changeable size of the central void, footprint of the building size, rotation angle between floors, height of the floors, curvilinear forms of the ground floor mass, and the curve shape of the skin panels.
Parametric study of the panels curve form
Python
To reduce the number of grasshopper batteries, python codes can be used as described in the video below. Diva and Galapagos were also utilized to experiment optimization of the panels forms based on daylighting features as explained in the video. Physics engine was also used to analyze the impact of different forces on the central void shape.
