HOUSTON AIRPORTs: Energy UPgrade and system retrofit

Working with Texas A&M Energy Systems Laboratory and Houston Airport System, and through their collaboration with several consultants, such as METCO, this project aims at reducing the energy consumption of the George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) in Houston, Texas. A combination of Utility Cost Reduction Measures (UCRMs) will be implemented including:

  • IAH Terminal A - Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) Upgrade

  • IAH D/E Garage Lighting

  • IAH Terminal A Lighting Retrofit

  • IAH A/B Garage Lighting

  • IAH Terminal A - Continuous Commissioning®

  • IAH AHUs Constant Volume to Variable Air Volume (VAV) Conversion

  • HOU Photovoltaic (PV)

  • HOU Concourse Controls Upgrades and Variable-Frequency Drives (VFDs)

  • HOU Chillers and Chilled Water System Upgrade

  • HOU Main Terminal Lighting

  • HOU Red Garage Lighting
